Postgraduate research programmes

Overview of our Social Statistics PhD.

Research topics

The CMI welcomes PhD applications related to our research groups. To get a better idea of the range of possible topics, please visit our academic staff web pages.

Doing a PhD

If you already have an accredited Master’s degree, then you can apply to be enrolled directly on to the PhD programme.

Alternatively, if you have an undergraduate degree, you will probably have to register for our 1+3 programme, which includes a one year MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics, followed by a three year PhD.

Our 1+3 programme will give you the opportunity to gain research skills that are essential to work at doctoral level. Part-time study is also a possibility.

Available funding
