Doing a PhD
If you already have a good Master’s degree then you can apply to be enrolled directly on to the PhD programme.
Alternatively, if you have a good first degree you will probably have to register for our 1+3 programme which includes a one year MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics followed by a three year PhD.
This will give you the opportunity to gain research skills that are essential to work at doctoral level. Part-time study is also a possibility.
Available funding
We hope to have a number of funded studentships available for 2014 from the ESRC through the North West Doctoral Training Centre.
